Hundreds of East Bay Residents Wait in Line for Shot at Meeting Golden State Warrior Stephen Curry

The point guard was in Pleasanton today to sign autographs and meet with fans while promoting the release of his new shoe.

Warriors fans from all over the East Bay waited in line for hours today at the Stoneridge Shopping Center in Pleasanton for a chance to meet one of the most popular point guards in the National Basketball Association.

Golden State Warrior Stephen Curry made an appearance at Champ’s Sports store in the mall for the release of the “Under Armour Curry 1” shoe. According to Under Armour representatives, the Warriors royal blue and California golden yellow shoe is available in California but will be released nationally on April 3.

Before signing autographs, Curry posed with store employees for photos. Curry was met by cheers as he walked to the front of the store to thank the enthusiastic crowd.

Under Armour representatives said fans started lining up around midnight hoping to snag one of the coveted wristbands that would later become their ticket into the store. The line extended all the way to Stoneridge Mall Road.

Livermore resident Melinda Cortez said she was shaking from excitement after she and her three children were one of the first in to see Curry.

”We got in line around midnight last night,” Cortez said.

Others in line said they came as far away as Pleasant Hill and San Lorenzo.

Curry was accompanied but his wife, Ayesha Curry, who is expecting their second baby in July.
