SeaWorld San Diego's Summer Spectacular Kicks Off Friday

The park is celebrating the "Summer of 60" with all-new shows, animal presentations, food, entertainment, fireworks, and more.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Summer is here with SeaWorld San Diego's Summer Spectacular.

The summertime event, which begins Friday, May 24, and runs through Monday, Sept. 2, aims to make a big splash for the theme park's 60th Anniversary. The park is commemorating the "Summer of 60" with all-new shows, animal presentations, entertainment, food, fireworks, and the return of Shamu and Crew.

Summer Spectacular will feature the "So Much More to Sea" 60th anniversary parade featuring Shamu and Crew, as well as a new live performance show, "Shamu and Crew: Together Again," at Mission Bay Theater.

There will also be a new BMX stunt show, a new sea lion presentation, a water stunt show featuring pirates and mermaids, and a new fireworks show.

Summer Spectacular will also include the Summer Concert Series, which is slated every Saturday from July 13 through Aug. 24. The lineup includes pop singer Jesse McCartney on July 13 and R&B singer Ginuwine on July 20. Additional concerts will be added and announced at a later date.

A new jellyfish exhibit, "Jewels of the Sea: The Jellyfish Experience," is also set to open soon.

The theme park is also offering new summer food and drink options, including the new Shamu and Crew Character Breakfast.
