Dear San Francisco is the critically-acclaimed intimate and immersive circus experience created by Bay Area natives and The 7 Fingers co-founders Shana Carroll and Gypsy Snider. Since opening in September 2021, Dear San Francisco has entertained over 100,000 locals and visitors. The production invites locals and visitors alike on a heart-stopping romp through both the essence and the myth that has San Francisco indelibly etched on our collective imagination. From the 1906 earthquake and Summer of Love to beat poetry and the mysterious fog, San Francisco comes vividly to life through a series of tableaus (acts), including hoop diving, Chinese pole, Korean plank, juggling, and “hand-to-trap” (a form first created by Shana Carroll), performed by an international cast of world-class acrobats.

San Francisco, CA - On September 12th, from 6-9 PM, the Minna Art Gallery (111 Minna St, San Francisco, CA) will host a special pop-up exhibition by Yana Mostitsky titled “My Home Is…”. This international project is dedicated to LGBTQ+ refugees from Russia who have fled to the United States in search of freedom after the Russian Federation passed a law outlawing all LGBTQ+ organizations. The exhibition is part of a networking event organized by the nonprofit Out Professionals San Francisco <a href="https://www.outprofessionals.org/chapters/california/san-francisco/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">(​​https://www.outprofessionals.org/chapters/california/san-francisco/)</a>. The “My Home Is…” The International Social-Fashion Photography Project is dedicated to those who had to flee their homes and abandon their lives after the Russian Federation approved a law that made it impossible for LGBTQ+ Russians to live openly without the threat of persecution or danger to their safety. Summer 2013 marked a turning point for many LGBTQ+ individuals in Russia when the law “For the Purpose of Protecting Children from Information Advocating a Denial of Traditional Family Values,” more commonly known as the “anti-gay propaganda” law, was passed by the Federation Council of the Russian Federation. 


The artist will present this social-fashion project to the public for one night only, from 6-9 PM, in the cozy and hip environment of the Minna Art Gallery in San Francisco. The exhibition is part of a nonprofit networking event organized by Out Professionals San Francisco, led by their ambassador, Danny Gray. Visitors are welcome to stop by, mingle, grab a drink from the gallery bar, and enjoy the musical vibes provided by local SF EDM artists DJ Astronominal (@astronominal) and DJ Victor V. (@dj_caspar_one).
Yana Mostitsky is a commercial and fashion photographer based in San Francisco, CA. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Photography from the Academy of Art University, SF, where she received the Best Portfolio of the Year award. Her work has earned numerous international awards in photography contests in Tokyo, Paris, Moscow, and beyond, and has been featured in several exhibitions across the US. In 2023, she had a solo exhibition at the 625 Gallery in San Francisco, and her works were included in group shows at The PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, VT ("Portals: Windows, Mirrors, and Doors") and APA San Diego’s Bread &amp; Salt Art Gallery ("Untitled - 2022"). Mostitsky is renowned for finding the beauty and power in her subjects and expressing it through fine portraiture. When asked about her inspiration, Mostitsky said, "I love incorporating notes of humor in my imagery. However, the observer will laugh with my subject, not at them. People’s faces are interesting, beautiful, and captivating in their unique ways, and my job is to find the appropriate light, angle, and decisive moment to encapsulate this essence in my shot."
When asked about the art exhibition, Mostitsky said, “The ‘My Home Is…’ international project is not only about the beauty of companionship beyond the limits of gender; it is also an artistic medium—a way to tell the story of the struggles that some of us face just to preserve who we are and to love who we choose. Our work is designed to showcase the value of personal freedom and the importance of our ability to love, using photography as a vital artistic tool. We started this project not only to highlight the magic of deep connection and love in its many forms but also to draw attention to the very price some of us have to pay to keep it.”

Reid, a sound designer and installation artist, and Nahmias, an interdisciplinary artist, both explore themes of cultural identity, heritage, and sociopolitical issues through their diverse media. This program will delve into their shared interests in Jewish mysticism, repurposed archives, and the intersection of personal and collective history, offering unique perspectives on contemporary Jewish art.&nbsp;

About the Series&nbsp;
This program is part of "Connecting with Jewishness through Art," a series of gallery programs with artists featured in the "California Jewish Open," discussing how their artistic practice expresses their Judaism or Jewish identity. At each program, two artists will come together in conversation with each other, the artwork, and the audience to provide context and insights into the complexities of their artwork.&nbsp;

About the Exhibition&nbsp;
The Museum's first major open call exhibition invited Jewish-identifying artists in California to submit artworks in response to a central question: How are artists looking to the many aspects of Jewish culture, identity, and community to foster, reimagine, hold, or discover connection? The resulting exhibition brings together the work of forty-seven artists reflecting on their connection to Judaism, the world, and their own history. Through a wide range of media, including paintings, sculptures, interactive video games, video works, photographs, and more, the "California Jewish Open" illustrates some of the myriad ways in which these artists' Jewish identity informs their connection to the world at large-and offers a window into the universal human need for connection in all its complexity.

Chef Tingle was ahead of his time when he opened Ralph’s Bistro in Healdsburg Plaza more than 20 years ago, long before Healdsburg became the world-renowned culinary destination it is today. With French culinary training from Le Cordon Bleu in France and experience at Le Cirque in New York, Chef Tingle brought authentic French cuisine to the heart of Sonoma County. 
Though Chef Tingle’s bistro may be a cherished memory, for one night only, The Rooftop at Harmon Guest House patrons can savor his iconic dishes and mingle with Chef himself!
The menu includes Chef Tingle’s famous Chicken Thigh Paillard ($14), Lamb Smashed Burger Sliders ($16), Grilled Squid &amp; Shishito Peppers ($15), Double Duck Lyonnaise Salad $16), House made Gravadlax ($15), and Ralph’s Signature Martini ($15).
The pop-up is a fitting conclusion to this wonderful summer series and a last chance for anyone who hasn’t been able to attend previous events. 
Launched in May, “Elevated Eats” has been a celebration of global cuisine, showcasing signature dishes of guest chefs that are crafted in collaboration with The Rooftop’s Executive Chef Wyatt Keith and his talented team. Past participants include celebrity Chef Kathy Fang, Chef Michelle Wood, Chef Cody Candelario, and Chef Mateo Granados.

The Coalition does not accept any government funding and therefore survives on small donations from Bay Area community members.&nbsp;&nbsp;
