Coronavirus: San Mateo County Fair Cancelled

Organizers cancelled the event for the first time since World War II.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — For just the second time in its 86-year history and for the first time since World War II, the San Mateo County Fair has been cancelled.

The San Mateo County Event Center and Fairgrounds will be used for its emergency response to the COVID-19 outbreak for at least 90 days, fair organizers said.

“Our core mission is always to serve our community first. As a designated Office of Emergency Services resource, we are fulfilling that mission. Our commitment to you is to continue to lead with our hearts and minds. We will get through this and emerge stronger and better together.” said CEO Dana Stoehr said in a statement.
