Emergency Child Care For Essential Workers Available In Marin

Space in the Marin County Emergency PopUp Childcare Program​ is limited.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Marin County and several other agencies have created the Marin County Emergency PopUp Childcare Program for health care workers, first responders, disaster service workers and other essential workers who are working or living in the county while classroom instruction is suspended during the new coronavirus pandemic.

Space in the program is limited. All child care centers will follow social distancing, sanitation and hygiene practices detailed in the March 13 public health advisory.

The fee schedule is $1,554 per month for infant, toddler and preschool programs effective Wednesday. Fees for TK-5 programs are $24 per day with a minimum of three days a week starting Monday. There are no fees for grades 6-12.

Tuition assistance may be available. Sites are open weekdays with varying hours and drop-in care is not offered at any of the sites.

The program is offered by the County of Marin, Marin County Office of Education, Marin County Free Library, the city of San Rafael, North Bay Children's Center, Community Action Marin and Marin YMCA.
