Man Wounded In East County Shooting

BOSTONIA, CA — A predawn shooting in a neighborhood near Gillespie Field airport left a man wounded Friday, authorities reported.

The gunfire was reported about 3 a.m. in the 1400 block of Graves Avenue, near state Route 67 and just north of El Cajon in the unincorporated Bostonia community, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

Paramedics took the victim to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego for treatment of an apparently non-life-threatening leg wound, Lt. Patrick Fox said.

The circumstances that led to the shooting were unclear, and no description of the handgun-wielding man was available as of late morning.

The victim told deputies he did not know the suspect, Fox said.
