Sinkhole Reported Near Venice Boardwalk; Intersection Closed

A sinkhole was reported in Venice Thursday, police said. An intersection near the boardwalk remains closed due to repairs.

VENICE, CA — A sinkhole was reported in Venice Thursday near the beach boardwalk, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The sinkhole prompted an intersection closure about noon Thursday near Zephyr Court and Speedway, Lt. Ensley of the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Division said.

A crew from the Street Services team was coordinating repairs, he added. The closure is expected to last several hours.
