CONNECTICUT — The weather on Tuesday wasn't too pleasant, and it's only going to get worse on Wednesday and Thursday morning.

"Our First Alert Weather Day continues due to renewed flooding concerns from 1-2″ of rain with locally higher amounts and wind gusts 40+ mph," said WFSB 3 TV Chief Meteorologist Mark Dixon with Scot Haney.

"The easterly wind direction will push water into Long Island Sound, so during this afternoon and tomorrow morning’s high tide cycles, 1.5-2.5′ of inundation is possible along the shoreline. There’s even the chance for some snow tonight into tomorrow, as colder air is drawn into CT as the wind switches to out of the north," Dixon and Haney said.

"For now, accumulations appear minor and confined to highest elevations of NW CT (1-3″) and NE CT (up to 1″). Regardless, it will be raw during the middle of the week with highs today and tomorrow ranging from the upper 30s to lower 40s," Dixon and Haney said. "It will feel even chillier with the wind. The rain or snow showers tomorrow will be more scattered in nature, and while breezy, it won’t be *as* windy." (Read/watch more at WFSB 3 TV).

Dixon and Haney said Connecticut may see some rain showers on Friday but better weather is forecast this weekend. Saturday looks dry and cloudy with temperatures near 50 degrees, and the sun returns on Sunday with temperatures into the mid 50s, the forecasters said.
