TOLLAND, CT — This week, the Picture Connecticut series encounters a big, fun-loving black bear that was frolicking round the center of Tolland last week.

Town Manager Brian Foley said he was on the road early on Jan. 11 and, when he was passing through the 100 block of Cider Mill Road, he spotted what he termed a "large untagged black bear" peeking his head out from behind a stone wall at No. 195.

"It was playing hide-and-seek," he said.

Though he didn't have much luck with video, Foley was able to capture a still image of the bear from a safe distance.
