CHESHIRE, CT — A new Dippin’ Dots and Doc Popcorn co-branded store is celebrating its opening in Cheshire with a special event on Saturday, July 13.

Customers can stop by the new 1,000-square-foot store at 2055 Meriden Road in Cheshire from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 13 to receive free mini cup samples from Dippin’ Dots and complementary bags of Doc Popcorn.

The Cheshire location is the second co-branded store in Connecticut, joining the Dippin’ Dots – Doc Popcorn at the Tanger Outlet Mall at Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket that opened in 2015, according to franchise owner Steve D’Amato.

D’Amato, a Wolcott resident, said Cheshire was selected for the new store location because “it's close to home, allowing us to fully cater to the community's needs.”

“We recognized that the community was looking for a place where they could find delicious treats while having fun, and we're excited to provide just that,” D’Amato said. “Our new co-branded store will also be a valuable addition to Cheshire, providing jobs and contributing to its growth.

“Our new Cheshire location offers more convenience for customers, featuring plenty of easy-access parking and proximity to major highways, making it easier for everyone to visit and enjoy both Dippin’ Dots and Doc Popcorn.”

D’Amato said the co-branded store will offer “new and classic Dippin’ Dots flavors that everyone loves, from ICEE Cherry ‘N Blue to Frozeti Dough, there is a flavor to match everyone’s tastebuds.”

“The best part of the co-branded store is that customers can complement their sweet treat cravings with a salty counterpart with our Doc Popcorn offerings,” he said.

The first Doc Popcorn location opened in 2003 outside of Boulder, Colorado.

“Doc Popcorn is delicious, fresh popcorn that uses high-quality ingredients – we craft our own proprietary flavor blends to produce a great popcorn experience,” D’Amato said. “This location will feature Doc Popcorn's newest flavor, Sour Cream & Onion, perfect for a tasty summer treat.”
