Why does your mom rock?

My mom rocks because she is a good-looking, great-cooking, Harley-riding woman! But she deserves this nomination because she’s been the main influence on a life I value so greatly – my biggest supporter, my number one fan, and my best friend. Ever since I could remember she’s worked tirelessly to prepare me for a life worth living. She always backs my interests and encourages me to reach for the stars. I played three sports a year from the time I could walk until college and she has never missed a game. She may not know what a “first down” is but she knows all of my jersey numbers. I have since moved from home to pursue a career but we still speak every day and make sure to get together frequently. She even visited Alabama when I had to go there for an extended work assignment. I could go on forever about the sacrifices she has made, values she has instilled, happiness she has brought, and love she has given but the point is that she rocks. I love you, Mom.

Why do you feel your mom deserves the spotlight?

My mom deserves the spotlight because she is so selfless and giving that this simple nomination would mean the world to her. She’s the type of mother who doesn’t ask for gifts on Mother’s Day but much rather prefer that the family just get together for a home-cooked meal. There’s not another mom out there who would benefit more from a humble token of appreciation, and that’s the least I can give to her on this day.
