Why does your mom rock?

Our mother is one of the most selfless, caring people that ever existed. Besides always being there for her children, four years ago our grandmother moved into our mother’s house after serious health issues left her needing round the clock care. Mom has tirelessly taken care of Grandma every day since, outfitting her house for handicap access, and making sure all of Grandma’s needs were met since she was no longer self-sufficient. Mom did this while working long hours running a small, private daycare out of her home where she loved “her” kids as much as her own. After we found out Grandma had stage 4 cancer this past March, Mom brought Grandma back home from her most recent hospital stay so she could die in the peace and comfort of her home, which was sadly on April 13.

Why do you feel your mom deserves the spotlight?

We want our mom to know how much we recognize and appreciate everything she does for everyone else, always putting herself last. She has four generations living under her roof, which isn’t always easy. We are so lucky to have her. She makes us proud every day, is an amazing role model and mother, and hope we become a fraction of the woman she is.
