Lockbox Containing Firearm Stolen From Car In Darien: Police

DARIEN, CT — A lockbox containing a firearm was stolen from a car in Darien recently, according to the Darien Police Department.

On June 13, a resident reported to police that between June 11-13, the lockbox was taken from his unlocked Porsche Cayenne, perhaps at his home on Ledge Road, police said in a crime summary update.

Police also said several car burglaries have been reported in town in recent days

On June 10 at approximately 6:30 p.m., an attempted car burglary occurred on Shady Acres Road, police said.

The suspect was seen trying to enter a gray Audi A4 parked in a driveway before fleeing in a black Mercedes sedan, police noted.

While police were investigating the incident at around 9:45 a.m., they discovered an additional incident that took place on Marianne Road involving a blue Genesis GV70, police said.

The vehicle owner reported finding his driver door wide open but confirmed that nothing was taken, police said.

On June 11 at approximately 4:54 p.m., Darien police responded to Wrenfield Lane on a report
of an attempted motor vehicle burglary that occurred the day before around 6:30 a.m.

The victim reported the incident was captured on his Ring camera that showed two people exit a
black SUV parked on the street, police said.
