Enfield Police Identify Woman Who Jumped Off Bridge

She was in the icy water for about 30 minutes, and was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

ENFIELD, CT — Police have identified the woman who died after jumping off the Enfield/Suffield Bridge Monday afternoon.

Kristen Musiak, 46, of Stafford Springs parked her car and jumped off the bridge around 2:35 p.m. Monday. Police had been informed a woman on the bridge seemed distraught, and she jumped just before officers arrived, Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said.

Musiak was in the water for nearly 30 minutes; at one point, a radio transmission indicated she had been under the water for 3 to 5 minutes.
