Money Drained From Bank Account of Granby Girl Scouts

The group managed to eventually get reimbursed by the bank, but seemingly had to jump through hoops to get it.

GRANBY, CT — The entire content of the bank account of the Granby Girl Scouts - $847.23 - was drained by an unknown person or persons several weeks ago, and the group had to battle to get back the money from its financial institution.

Fox61 reported a charge on the troop's account was made at a Best Buy store in New Jersey. Best Buy advised them to contact police, and Simsbury Bank told them there was nothing the bank could do.

Intervention by a Fox61 consumer advocate team resulted in the troop being reimbursed the full amount by Simsbury Bank.
