Milford Mother's Day Superstar: Christine Paolucci

Why does she rock? The woman is a super hero, given her strength, passion, determination, and emotional drive to overcome adversity. She is a good daughter, sister, wife, and mother to her own daughter, Eden. After nearly dying during a terrible miscarriage years ago and developing fibromyalgia as a result, in addition to a handful of other medical conditions that impede upon her quality of life, she holds a full time job as a client service representative at The Nielsen Company. She also has a part-time job as a health care worker at Old Orchard Group Home, is working toward her college degree, manages her parent’s finances and household, and still finds time to spend with her own family.

She is a strong advocate for human rights, never hesitating to petition senators and anyone else about a particular cause. She is also a fierce environmentalist and heads the company Green Team at the office where her and I work together. She will also petition a company or business about their practices in regards to human rights or the environment if deemed necessary, never pulling any punches or relenting if met with resistance.

Christine is also a certified chocolatier and finds time to indulge her passion for making chocolate from scratch, going so far as to teach my daughter, and make favors for parties and other events. She plays the piano and sings beautifully, displays a unique artistic eye in her photography, and never misses a school function or Girl Scout event, despite her busy and demanding life.

We have been together for over twenty years, married very young, only a month after meeting, and have never regretted a single moment. She is the woman I hope my daughter grows to become. She is deeply admired and respected by everyone in her family, and she’s my hero, someone I aspire to be like every day of my life.

She does all of the above without ever expecting anything in return. Other people’s joy and happiness is her reward. And as much as I remind her how appreciative I am to have her in my life, and as often as she’s thanked for the many things she does, I never feel as if it’s enough in comparison to what she does for those she cares about.
