NEW CANAAN, CT — Among the revelations in the more than 460 pages of search warrant documents unsealed by the court Wednesday in the murder case of Jennifer Farber Dulos are potentially damning descriptions of abuse toward Jennifer by her estranged husband, Fotis Dulos.

The allegations are made in the document by Lauren Almeida, who served as the nanny for the five Dulos children. Almeida, who likely will be a key witness in the eventual trial, described an incident to police where Fotis Dulos tried to run over Jennifer Dulos with a vehicle.

In another incident, Almeida witnessed Fotis Dulos chasing his estranged wife through their Farmington house, and Jennifer running into a bedroom and slamming the door so that Fotis could not get in.

Jennifer and Fotis Dulos were in the midst of a contentious, two-year-long divorce fight and child custody battle at the time of her disappearance, and most of the incidents described by Almeida occurred during that two-year period.

The warrants outline the months of meticulous work done by law enforcement and prosecutors in the case, including finding a plethora of items that Fotis Dulos and ex-girlfriend Michelle Troconis are accused of discarding. Many of those items, including articles of clothing and sponges, have tested positive for Jennifer Dulos' blood.

Authorities believe that Fotis Dulos waited for her and then attacked his wife in her New Canaan home on May 24, based on blood and forensic evidence obtained at the scene. She has not been seen since that date, and Fotis Dulos has been charged with murder as a result.

In the weeks following the disappearance, law enforcement went to considerable lengths to obtain cell phone and various surveillance footage, not only from New Canaan, but throughout Connecticut in connection with the case, the warrants outline.

Troconis and Hartford-area attorney Kent Mawhinney have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the case, because authorities believe they assisted Fotis Dulos with the crime and cover up. Fotis Dulos and Troconis are free on bond, while Mawhinney remains in custody; all three are scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court next month.

In a statement sent to Patch and other news outlets, attorney Norm Pattis, who represents Fotis Dulos in the criminal case, said that he and his team are combing through the documents.

"We're beginning our review of the warrants and are relieved to see that the state police were listening to what we had to say," Pattis said. "The state dropped its theory that Mr. Dulos was motivated by animus regarding the divorce because it learned we were right — there was no such motive. I am stunned that the police never asked to speak to Mr. Dulos. We may well have been able to persuade them to drop the case altogether. We would have sat for an interview. We're looking forward to the trial and will press for one as quickly as possible."
