Unplowed New Canaan Driveway Made Firefighting Job Difficult

Firefighters used a garden hose and portable equipment after a firetruck got stuck in the icy driveway.

NEW CANAAN, CT — An unplowed driveway made a firefighting job more difficult than usual.

New Canaan firefighters responded to a Mill Road residence Feb. 13 to fight the fire, according to the Stamford Advocate.

A truck tried to get up the driveway, but got stuck. Firefighters resorted to using a garden hose and portable fire extinguishers to put out the blaze.

The fire started after a crack in a fireplace exposed the internal part of the home to a hot ember.
