Barstool Sports Gives Pepe's Pizza Stellar Review
New Haven pizza is batting 1,000 so far with Pepe's and Modern getting high praise. Here's which pie the popular review show liked better.
NEW HAVEN, CT — Barstool Sports released another anticipated review as founder Dave Portnoy made his way to legendary Frank Pepe's Pizzeria.
Portnoy gave Pepe's an 8.5 out of 10, slightly lower than Modern Apizza. He'll be making his way to Bar and Sally's Apizza to round out the iconic New Haven pizza experience.
"Pepe's does not disappoint, that's two for two," he said. "New Haven getting very, very close to being declared the pizza capital of the United States."

Portnoy has had Pepe's at two other locations, but this was his first time enjoying the original Wooster Street location. The popular pizza review show spawned One Bite, an app which is focused on pizza ratings and reviews.
The New Haven Pepe's location routinely draws celebrities. Actors Paul Giamatti and Sir Patrick Stewart stopped in this year. Former President Bill Clinton, a Yale alumnus enjoyed a slice in 2016 while Hillary Clinton was campaigning in the state.
