Country Star Martina McBride Stops By New Haven Pizzeria

NEW HAVEN, CT — Country music star Martina McBride stopped by Modern Apizza for dinner Thursday night. She posted a video about her time at the pizzeria on Instagram, showing off the remains of three different pies.

"Got a hot tip from @piecechicago about a pizza place in New Haven, CT. Guys and gals. If you’re ever in the neighborhood hit @modernapizza DELICIOUS!!"

Modern Apizza also posted about McBride and her husband, John, coming to the restaurant.

McBride performed at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford Thursday night as part of her Joy of Christmas tour. She continues the tour Friday night in Philadelphia.

McBride has sold more than 14 million albums in the U.S. alone. She has also been the Country Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year four times and the Academy of Country Music's Top Female Vocalist three times. She is a 14-time Grammy-Award-winning artist.

Modern Apizza is an iconic New Haven restaurant that ranked third in the country in Trip Advisor's best pizza shops and received high marks in a review by Barstool Sports.
