This CT Pizzeria Ranked 3rd Best In Country: TripAdvisor

A Connecticut pizzeria came in as one of the best pizza shops in the country, according to TripAdvisor, but there is also something odd too

NEW HAVEN, CT — New Haven pizzeria Modern Apizza was ranked as the third best pizza shop in the U.S. by TripAdvisor. New Haven pizza almost always ranks near the top of any best of list, but interestingly enough the top restaurant spot doesn't belong to New York or Chicago, but Boston.

TripAdvisor took into account the quality and quantity of reviews with more weight to reviews from the past year.

One TripAdvisor review said, “I have been to Modern countless times. Always great. The pizza is thin and has a bit of a char to the crust. The sauce is very savory. My favorite topping is the sausage - perhaps the best I have had.”

Oddly enough New Haven didn't make TripAdvisor's Top 10 U.S. Pizza Cities list. New York City and Chicago unsurprisingly came in number one and two, but New Haven was beat out by places including Orlando, (5), Atlanta (9) Las Vegas (3) and San Diego (8).
