The wife of Chachi from "Happy Days" was taken to task by many on social media for what many are calling a cruel comment.

NEWTOWN, CT — Comments by the wife of "Happy Days" actor Scott Baio following her husband's controversial conspiracy theory-inspired tweet has garnered intense social media ire. Renee Baio made what many are calling a cruel comment when responding to Nelba Marquez-Greene, who lost her daughter during the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in 2012.

The tweet, which has since been deleted, was captured by The Wrap.

"I’m sorry 4 your loss @Nelba_MG however, maybe your children are in a better place. Your ugliness knows no bounds! I’ll pray for you," tweeted Renee Baio as she responded to Marquez-Green's tweet.

Renee Baio's tweet comes after Scott Baio, famous for playing Chachi on "Happy Days," retweeted a photo comparing the mother of Heather Heyer, who was killed during the violence in Charlottesville, to the slain Victoria Soto's mother Donna Soto, who spoke after her daughter was one of the six educators and 20 children killed during the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in 2012.

Scott Baio defended the tweet and accused "libs" of twisting his words after the tweet was posted. He later walked back those comments.

Renee Baio issued an apology for the tweet, saying Marquez-Greene's tweet came at a time while she is dealing with medical issues, according to The Wrap. Her apology was not adequate, Marquez-Greene tweeted.

Renee Baio's Twitter account is currently not public.
