Caregiver Arrested After Elderly Norwalk Woman Found Malnourished, Covered In Feces: Report

The woman was hospitalized and survived after the discovery was made in November. Police arrested the suspect on a warrant this week.

NORWALK, CT — A 58-year-old Norwalk man was arrested on a warrant on a charge of cruelty to person and other offenses for allegedly leaving an 86-year-old woman, for whom he is a caregiver, unconscious, malnourished and covered in feces, reports The Hour.

The shocking discovery was made in November, and the woman required hospitalization for four days before she recovered enough to be moved to a nursing home.

Arrested this week was Anthony Winley, who was additionally charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, breach of peace and interfering with an officer.

He is currently in custody, and a protective order was also put in place which does not permit Winley to have any contact with the woman.
