SHELTON, CT — Firefighters rescued a worker stuck in a tree with "a traumatic injury" who was then rushed to a local trauma facility Tuesday afternoon, according to fire officials.

Firefighters tried to reach the worker using ground ladders but were unsuccessful, so crews constructed rope systems to gain access to him, fire officials said.

Crews reached the worker after a short while and removed his harness, then placed him in a Stokes basket to remove him from the tree, according to fire officials.
