Man Charged With Stealing Car from Suffield Business

The business owner reported a vehicle was stolen from her property Thursday.

SUFFIELD, CT — An Enfield man was arrested last week in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle from a Suffield business.

David McFarlane, 44, of 9 Tabor Road, was charged with third-degree larceny and criminal violation of a protective order. He was held on a $7,000 surety bond.

At his arraignment Friday in Enfield Superior Court, his bond was upped to $10,000, and he remains in custody, according to judicial records.

Suffield police received a complaint Thursday from the owner of Suffield Autoworks that a vehicle had been stolen from her property and was being operated by a former employee.

The vehicle was found a short time later in Enfield, and a Massachusetts police dog tracked McFarlane from the vehicle, police said.

He is scheduled to return to court Feb. 6.
