Why does she rock?
She is such a nut, in the best possible way. You can find her on the beach or at the campground often sporting some questionable (ugly) outfits or hats. I will occasionally question her outfit and her response is, “ I don’t care. I like it” or “well, it’s keeping me warm.”
A few years ago we went to a UConn football game. The game was very close to Thanksgiving weekend. My mom being herself and decided to wear a hat that had a turkey that stands up. Every time UCONN had a good play or touchdown she would jump up and start gobbling and flapping her wings. Not too long ago she came across a cardboard cutout of Rob Gronkowski, the tight end for Patriots. So of course out comes the camera. She made me take pictures of her and her favorite Pats player.
As I am becoming older I now see my mom more than just my mom. Her actions really left an impression on me. She’s a very caring and generous person. She’s actively involved in the church and spends as much time as she can with my grandmother who is in a nursing home. I really love her and think everyone deserves extra love.
