Driver Arrested After Striking Scooter, Seriously Injuring Couple

TAMPA, FL — A driver had been arrested after being accused of striking a motorized scooter on North Nebraska Avenue and East Palm Avenue, seriously injuring a man and woman on the scooter.

According to Tampa Police, at 2:40 a.m. Friday, Jenalone Sisavat was driving an Acura north on North Nebraska Avenue when the scooter heading west on East Palm Avenue crossing into the Acura's path.

Police said Sisavat struck the scooter and both riders on the single-rider scooter were thrown off. They were transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

Sisivat left the scene without providing aid to the injured couple, according to police.

Sisivat was charged with leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury, and remains in jail. Bail has been set at $7,500. Additional charges may be pending.
