Sheriff Makes Arrest In Sexual Assault Of Woman Walking Home

Hillsborough County sheriff's detectives have arrested a man accused of sexually battering a woman early Sunday morning.

Detectives have arrested Elieser Alvarez Lima, 31, and charged him with sexual battery, felony kidnapping and aggravated battery with great bodily harm.

TAMPA, FL — Hillsborough County sheriff's detectives have arrested a man accused of sexually battering a woman early Sunday morning.

Detectives have arrested Elieser Alvarez Lima, 31, and charged him with sexual battery, felony kidnapping and aggravated battery with great bodily harm.

He is currently being held at the Orient Road Jail.

Around 4:30 a.m. on July 25, the woman was walking home from the Aqua Lounge at 4203 W. Waters Ave. in Tampa. Near the 4000 block West Humphrey Street, a man approached her and struck her in the face and choked her. As the woman struggled, the man sexually battered her.

She sustained multiple injuries.

"I want to commend this victim for the strength she showed when she came forward to report what happened to her," said Sheriff Chad Chronister.
