TAMPA BAY, FL — The popular Datz restaurant is serving up some support for Tampa Bay's front-line workers in the war against coronavirus with a dose of humor.

The Datz Restaurant Group with locations at 2616 S. MacDill Ave., Tampa, and 180 Central Ave., St. Petersburg, had an instant hit when it debuted its Toilet Paper Cake last month. Now, Datz is following up with iced cookies inspired by the new social distancing mandates and the use of masks to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

The cookies are available for $4 each, and can be donated to your favorite first responders or health care workers to bring a smile to their faces.

And, as a reminder to maintain a safe social distance, Datz employees are sporting Datz, right: STAY AWAY FROM ME Tees. The T-shirts are available to the public for $20 each.

On a more serious note, Datz is encouraging the "Together for Tampa, Neighbors Helping Neighbors" movement with #ThanksHealthHeroes Meal Donations. Every Friday, Datz Tampa will match every $10 meal ordered for donation and delivery to medical professionals on the front lines of the fight against coronavirus, including Tampa General Hospital workers, local fire houses and more.

While you're at it, don't forget to treat yourself with some of Datz's comfort foods. Although Datz is closed for in-house dining, it's still open for delivery and takeout. Enjoy 15 percent off your check when you order food for pick-up.

For fidgety furry friends in quarantine, Datz's sister bakery, Dough, is offering Datz for Doggos, including Pumpkin Peanut Butter Biscuits ($2 each) and sister smokehouse, Dr. BBQ, has gourmet, smoked in-house Pigs Ears ($3 for two).
