'Happiest Cities In America' Ranking Includes 10 FL Cities

FLORIDA — Ten Florida cities have been ranked by the personal-finance website WalletHub among the Happiest Cities in America, with five cities placing among the top 75.

The highest-ranking city, Pembroke Pines, ranked No. 48 on the list, while Cape Coral was No. 51, Fort Lauderdale ranked No. 52, Tampa was No. 62 overall, Orlando was No. 74, St. Petersburg is No. 80, Miami is No. 84, Hialeah is No. 94, Tallahassee is No. 98 and Jacksonville is No. 106 out of 182 rankings.

Pembroke Pines was 48th for emotional and physical well-being; 160th for income and employment; and 26th for community and environment.

Cape Coral is 70th for emotional and physical well-being; 101st for income and employment; and 11th for community and environment.

Fort Lauderdale is 59th for emotional and physical well-being; 74th for income and employment; and 68th for community and environment.

Tampa is 69th for emotional and physical well-being; 46th for income and employment; and 63rd for community and environment.

Orlando is 68th for emotional and physical well-being; 39th for income and employment; and 117th for community and environment.

St. Petersburg is 78th for emotional and physical well-being; 53rd for income and employment; and 90th for community and environment.

Miami is 73rd for emotional and physical well-being; 23rd for income and employment; and 151st for community and environment.

Hialeah is 79th for emotional and physical well-being; 132nd for income and employment; and 119th for community and environment.

Tallahassee is 109th for emotional and physical well-being; 48th for income and employment; and 98th for community and environment.

Jacksonville is 115th for emotional and physical well-being; 135th for income and employment; and 51st for community and environment.

WalletHub compared 182 of the largest U.S. cities to determine which is home to the happiest people in America. The outlet examined each city based on 29 key indicators of happiness, ranging from income-growth rate to depression rate and average leisure time spent per day.

The top 10 communities on the 2024’s Happiest Cities in America for best mental and physical well being are:

Location plays a hand in happiness, along with overall physical and mental health, strong social connections, job satisfaction and financial well-being, the folks at WalletHub said. But people who earn $75,000 a year won’t get any higher satisfaction from more money. And the U.S. is one of the richest countries, but it ranks 15th on the World Happiness Report.
