ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A man faces charges after shooting a gun into the air outside a crowded St. Petersburg bar Sunday night, authorities said.

An officer saw Dwight Williams, 45, drive by the crowd outside Catalyst Lounge, 903 22nd Street S., and fire shots multiple times into the air just before 8:30 p.m., St. Petersburg police said.

The officer stopped him without incident. Williams also showed signs of intoxication.

He was charged with discharging a firearm within 1,000 feet of a person, driving under the influence, using a firearm under the influence of alcoholic beverages and possession of marijuana.
