If the Milton High School Eagles Varsity Football seems to have some extra pep in their step, some of the credit almost certainly goes to city recreation provider CorePhysique and their trigger point performance therapy.

Every Saturday after games, Milton resident and CorePhysique founder Kolleen Riddick meets with the team and uses rollers, balls, blocks and other equipment to relieve pain and tension in the young athletes’ bodies.

“It is important for young athletes to gain a better understanding of their bodies,” said Riddick. “Trigger point therapy addresses the soft tissue and shows how to properly prepare for workouts and the importance of recovery.”

The proof is in the pudding, said Obi Fortune, a Milton senior who starts at free safety and wide receiver. Recently, he suffered from a hamstring sprain that would have normally hampered him for weeks.

“Trigger point got me on the field faster,” he said. “I’ve never felt better coming into a season.”

His experience is not unique, said Riddick. That’s because the classes restore range of motion and establish effective movement patterns, which gives players immediate results.

“With that change comes more confidence in their abilities on and off the field,” she said.

Gary Silvestri is part of the coaching staff of the Milton Eagles. He said it’s not just trigger point making a difference on the field – it’s Riddick’s dedication to the players.

“Kolleen’s personal passion to assist our football players in prevention and recovery of injuries is huge to their success and health,” he said.

CorePhysique’s 4,700-square-foot gym is located at 6225 Atlanta Highway Suite 111 in Alpharetta, just minutes from Milton’s City Hall.
