Mayor Signs Atlanta Bike Share Program Contract

The system will include some 500 bikes and 50 bike stations and will be operational later this year.

Mayor Kasim Reed has signed a contract with CycleHop and its partners to roll out a bicycle sharing program for the City of Atlanta.

According to Atlanta InTown, the program will consist of 500 bikes and 50 bike stations around the city. Each station and bicycle will be equipped with GPS for the convenience of riders looking to pick up or drop off a bicycle. Riders can even rent a bike in advance by using the internet or a phone app.

The program will now work to identify corporate sponsors ahead of the system’s grand opening later this year.
