The event will be held noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 22 at the Cherokee County Aquatic Center. The event is part of Jack’s senior project, an initiative the Cherokee County School District requires to expose graduating seniors to potential career paths.

Jack volunteers with Diveheart, a nonprofit organization that works to improve the self-esteem and empower residents of all ages and abilities through its adaptive scuba diving program.

The organization pairs a person with disabilities with able-bodied volunteer scuba divers so they can experience the aquatic sport.

Sunday’s event is free of charge, and gear and trained buddies will be provided by Dive Georgia. Anyone who would like to participate can contact Jack at [email protected] or his supervisor and co-coordinator of the Atlanta Chapter of Diveheart, Catherine Rosborough, at [email protected] or (770) 265- 6980.
