Love Lights A Tree Honors Residents Who Lost Battle With Cancer

The annual ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28 in downtown Canton.

The American Cancer Society on Friday will hold its annual Love Lights a Tree celebration to honor residents who’ve lost their lives to cancer.

The ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 28 at the gazebo in downtown Canton. The 2014 tree will honor the memories of Jeannie Adams, Dr. Harry N. Davis, Dr. Edwin I. Swords, Mary Kay Davis and former State Rep. Calvin Hill.

Daily Bread and Academy of Dance Arts will provide entertainment and light refreshments will be served. Additionally, Santa Claus is slated to make an appearance.

Residents who purchased ornaments will have their loved one’s names written on the ornaments to beΒ placed on the tree. The American Cancer Society will continue to accept donations throughout the holiday season and place ornaments on the tree through December.

Donations will help the American Cancer Society fund its programs of research, education and patient services.
