Student Donates Girl Scout Cookies To Officers

Sydney Sincula, a 5th grade student at Holly Springs Elementary School, delivered 25 boxes to officers last month.

A student at Holly Springs Elementary School didn’t want to let perfectly good boxes of Girl Scout cookies go to waste.

Sydney Sincula, a fifth-grade student at the school, initially raised enough money to donate 605 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to the Atlanta V.A. Medical Center. Late last month, she offered to deliver an additional 25 boxes to officers with the Holly Springs Police Department.

The agency posted the news last week on its Facebook page in the midst of the winter weather that descended onto Cherokee County.

“We personally would like to thank Sydney for her incredible thoughtfulness, and we did not want her efforts overshadowed by some silly snow,” the agency wrote on its Facebook page. “Sydney deserves the limelight for her efforts.”

Sydney has a long history of giving back to others while getting her education at Holly Springs Elementary School. In 2012, 2013 and 2014, she led campaigns to donate hundreds of boxes of Girl Scout cookies to men and women serving in the United States military.
