Cumming Man Donates Nearly $3K for K9 Ballistic Vests

Three Forsyth County Sheriff's Office K9 officers have been given the bullet and stab proof protective vests.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office K9s Hummer, Bowie and Draco will now be protected by ballistic vests when they’re out on the job.

Cumming resident Joe Radak donated $2,850 to a non-profit organization, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., to pay for the cost of the vests for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, according to a post from the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a non-profit, Massachusetts-based charity dedicated to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs employed by law enforcement agencies throughout the United States, according to the post. Each vest costs $950 and has a five year warranty.
