Forsyth County Hit-And-Run Kills Alpharetta Man, 70: Sheriff

The man's nephew saw a four-door vehicle hit his uncle Tuesday night in Forsyth County, the sheriff's office said.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — A 70-year-old Alpharetta man walking near Atlanta Highway and Tidwell Road Tuesday night died after being hit by a vehicle that fled the scene, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.

Authorities said Joaquin Vega was walking around 8:30 p.m. across the roadway when his nephew, who was across the street, saw a four-door vehicle hit his uncle, authorities said.

Vega was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle was not specifically identified, but authorities said it may be an SUV.
