Help Name Forsyth's New Middle School

The new school will open in 2016 off of McFarland Parkway in Alpharetta.

Forsyth County Schools is looking for the name of its newest middle school, and wants you to get involved in the process.

Between now and Oct. 10, residents can see the three potential names thought up by the School Naming Committee and select which one they like best. The three names are as follows:

  • Creekside: Named after the creek that runs diagonally through the school property.
  • DeSana: Named after Jim and Jeanne DeSana (deceased), who were school and community volunteers for 30 years and contributed $250,000 in scholarships to FCS graduates.
  • Union Hill: Named after Union Hill Road in south Forsyth; name associated with area since 1830s.

The name which receives the most votes by Friday will be taken to the Forsyth County Board of Education for final approval later this month. The school itself should be ready by 2016.
