New Central Park Playground Opens
The newest play area in Cumming was paid for by a voter-approved bond in 2008.

Youngsters in Cumming now have a new place to make friends, play, and enjoy the outdoors.
The new playground at Central Park has opened, and features a tot lot for children aged 2 to 5 and a playground for the “grownup” kids between the ages of 5 and 12. The playground has swings, climbers, slides, and is made entirely of metal and plastic.

The old playground at the park was replaced due to its all wood construction and the lack of available replacement parts. Forsyth County voters approved the replacement of the playground when they passed the Parks, Recreation and Green Space Bond in 2008.
“We are excited to offer this new playground to families visiting Central Park,” said Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation Tommy Bruce in a statement on Forsyth County’s website. “It is a great playground that kids are really going to enjoy.”
