"Shark Tank" Contestant Opening Storefront in Decatur

Southern Culture will offer cooking classes, top-notch southern breakfast cuisine, and a line of healthy breakfast ingredients.

A contestant on the popular business reality show “Shark Tank” will soon have a brick-and-mortar store in Decatur, according to a release.

Erica Barrett and “Southern Culture” will celebrate the grand opening of the business’ first-ever physical location at 251 Rio Circle on March 16 at 2 p.m. Barrett will offer customers bites of never-before released recipes and classic Southern Culture staples like pancake mix, salty bacon, and stone ground grits.

The flagship store will also serve as a place of learning, with Barrett herself preparing to teach cooking classes on Southern-style cuisines on site at various times during the year, the release said. Registration for these classes will open at the Southern Culture website on March 6.
