Tree Planting in Decatur on Feb. 28

Volunteers will plant trees in the city's right-of-ways.

The City of Decatur and Trees Atlanta are teaming up to plant new greenery along city right-of-ways later this month.

According to The Decatur Minute, volunteers will gather at Glennwood Elementary at 9 a.m. on Feb. 28 and proceed to plant trees on city property. Trees Atlanta will then water the saplings for two years and trim and prune the trees as they grow for the next three years.

Please contact NeighborWoods Program Manager Susan Pierce Cunningham at [email protected] or 404-681-4896 if you want more info on your right-of-way tree, do not want a tree on your nearby right-of-way or would like to request a shade tree for your front yard.
