Holy Coaster! Batman Ride to Run Backwards at Six Flags

The amusement park said the popular roller coaster offers a new twist this spring.

A popular roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia has a new twist planned when the amusement park opens in March.

The Austell park said in a press release that Batman: The Ride will be run backwards for a limited time this spring.

The popular attraction has given more than 16 million rides since it opened in 1997, the park said.

The new twist takes riders up a 10-story lift, reaches speeds of 50 mph, and zooms along 2,700 feet of track — all backwards.

“We are excited to offer our guests an incredible and gravity-defying ride on one of the park’s most popular attractions,” Six Flags Atlanta Properties park president Dale Kaetzel said in the press release. “This twist is the first of several new experiences coming this season to Gotham City.”
