Meet JoJo and Caleb: Douglas County Animal Shelter Pets of the Week

October is Adopt a Shelter Pet month at the shelter located on 1755 County Services Road in Douglasville.

October is Adopt-a-Shelter Pet month. Of course, it is always a great time to adopt your new furry family member from the Douglas County Animal Shelter. The shelter has many wonderful dogs and cats available for adoption every day.

A new benefit of the shelter’s Pet of the Week promotion is that each of the Pets of the Week receives free spay or neutering when adopted.

The Dog of the Week is JoJo (#13124). JoJo is a medium-sized adult black with white Labrador Retriever. He is sweet, mild mannered, loving and dog friendly. JoJo’s favorite pastime is to stand on top of his dog house. This dog is all smiles! JoJo was one of the featured dogs at the recent “Woofstock” event, and got rave reviews! He has been microchipped and is current on his rabies vaccination. He has been at the shelter for over 30 days, and would really like to vacate the shelter and move in with a nice, loving family. A wonderful dog like this deserves a wonderful family. Please give this dog a second chance .

The Cat of the Week is Caleb (#13347). Caleb is a small adult orange tabby. He’s a very sweet, gentle and calm kitty and would enjoy a nice warm lap in which to snuggle as cold weather approaches. An excellent family cat, he’s past the wild and crazy kitten stage, but would offer a lot of love and companionship. He has been at the shelter for almost two weeks and would appreciate moving into a loving, permanent home. Please give this great cat a great home and a second chance at a long, happy life.

These and many other fine animals are available for adoption Tuesday-Sunday afternoons at the Douglas County Animal Shelter, located at 1755 County Services Road in Douglasville, adjacent the Cedar Mountain landfill. All adoptable pets can be viewed on www.petfinder.com and adopt-a-pet.com.
