School Takes Home Super Regionals Lego Win

Montgomery Elementary students won the top award at the Clark State University tournament.

Montgomery Elementary School’s First Lego League team took home the top award at the Super Regionals tournament at Clark State University on Jan. 10.

The team from the Brookhaven school will advance to the state tournament, which takes place at Georgia Tech on Saturday, Jan. 24.

The Lego League team lead teacher coach is Nancy Nichelson—teacher coaches, Maja Blair and Erica Mistretta, along with parent coach, Vanessa Quan—and the team is comprised of six fourth- and fifth-grade students (Avaye Dawadi, Nancy Francesca Jepson, Olivia, Li, Sophie Li, Nicholas Ressler-Craig and Alex Thorne).

Montgomery Elementary is a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) school.
