2 Injured In Midtown Shooting Released From Hospital

Hospital staff said Wednesday two more women have been moved out of the intensive care unit.

MIDTOWN, GA — Two of the five women who were shot in the Midtown mass shooting on May 3 have been released from Grady Memorial Hospital, hospital staff said Wednesday.

Two more women were moved out of the intensive care unit but remain hospitalized. Grady staff said they are "progressing well."

A fifth woman, Amy St. Pierre, died in the shooting at a Northside Hospital medical facility. All of the women were between the ages of 25 and 71.

Two of the five women who were shot were employees of Northside's Laureate Medical Group, the hospital said Monday.

The accused gunman, Deion Patterson, 24, led police on an hourslong multi-agency manhunt that ended in Cobb County. He remained in the Fulton County Jail Wednesday on one count of murder and four counts of aggravated assault charges, according to jail records.

Northside closed shortly after the shooting but reopened most practices Monday.

The families of the five women are being supported by an onsite spiritual health team and the Northside Hospital Foundation. A fund through the foundation has been established to offer support, Northside said in the release.
