Two dogs who were rescued from a suspected dog fighting ring in south Fulton County earlier this year can now be adopted from the Atlanta Humane Society.

Police and animal control officers raided a home in the 5200 block of Koweta Road on Oct. 1 and rescued 20 dogs, two horses, and four hogs. Authorities believe the dogs were being used in dog fighting operations in the area.

All animals were transported to Fulton County Animal Control and many have since been cleared for adoption at the Atlanta Humane Society, WSB-TV says.

2-year-old Cornelia was used to breed additional puppies and loves to snuggle, while 8-month old Caesar is full of energy and loves to play fetch. As an adolescent dog, Caesar will need leash and obedience training and a fenced in yard, and probably isn’t right for first-time dog owners or families with small children.

Neither Cornelia nor Caesar have been aggressive towards other animals or people, the Atlanta Humane Society says, though Cornelia is known to chase after squirrels and Caesar can get a little rough while playing with other dogs.

If you would like to meet either Caesar or Cornelia, please contact the Atlanta Humane Society at (404) 875-5331.
