Ben Roethlisberger Awards Grant To Roswell Police For New K-9

The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation has donated $12,000 for Roswell to purchase and train a new K-9.

A grant distributed by a NFL quarterback will help a local police department train and secure a new K-9.

The Roswell Police Department has received a grant distributed by Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Through the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation at The Giving Back Fund, Roswell police will receive $12,000 to secure and train a new K-9.

This police dog “will be instrumental to our department and to the community by working on various tasks, including narcotic detection and search and rescue calls,” the Roswell Police Department said on Friday.

“The Roswell Police Department is excited to partner with the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation and is thankful for the funding for a police K-9,” said Roswell Police Chief Rusty Grant. “Our police K-9’s play an important role in our mission to protect the community.”

Roethlisberger added his foundation is “very fortunate to be in the position that we are able to help these K-9 units.”

“The work that is performed by the dogs and their handlers as well as the bond that is formed is incredible,” he said. “We’re just thrilled to do our small part.”
