24-Year-Old Dies After Being Shocked By Electricity In Lake Lanier

A neighbor shut off the power and pulled the victim from the lake, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

FORSYTH COUNTY β€” A 24-year-old man died after he was shocked by electricity at Lake Lanier in Forsyth County, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

The man jumped off a dock Thursday near Lanier Beach South Road and was shocked by electricity in the water, a department spokesman said, adding a neighbor shut off the power and pulled the victim from the lake.

The man later died at Northside Hospital Forsyth, according to the department, which noted the state agency was not on the scene when the incident occurred.
