Bank Employee Recognized For Giving Back to Sandy Springs Community

Signature Bank of Georgia recognized Mary Ladd with its first Volunteer of the Year award.

Signature Bank of Georgia has recognized Mary Ladd as the first recipient of its Volunteer of the Year award.

Signature Bank President Freddie Deutsch honored Ladd in a ceremony at the bank’s Sandy Springs headquarters.

“Mary’s tireless energy and willingness to volunteer for a wide range of worthy organizations sets an example for us all to follow,” Deutsch said. “Giving up her own personal time outside of bank hours to help those less fortunate shows her dedication and commitment to the true spirit of volunteerism.

Ladd’s volunteering in 2014 included working with the Community Assistance Center, feeding the homeless at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church and through Dunwoody United Methodist Church, participating in Leadership Sandy Springs’ Better Sandy Springs Day and supporting the Community Emergency Response Team.

Signature Bank of Georgia encourages its employees to volunteer in the Sandy Springs community and during 2014, 95 percent of the bank’s employees logged nearly 200 hours of service. The bank encourages participation by giving employees up to four hours a month to volunteer at a place of their choice.

As Volunteer of the Year, Ladd accepted a $250 gift card as a thank you. Signature Bank will match this amount in giving to the organization of Ladd’s choice. She will also have her name engraved on a perpetual commemorative plaque to be displayed in the bank’s corporate office

“I am very thankful that the bank felt I was worthy of the award,” Ladd said. “To me, volunteering is simply participating in community activities and events that I enjoy and that make my heart feel good.”
